one of our small familiar nights sees Elyas Khan and The Electric Set performing tomorrow at the lovely Madame Claude. Elyas Khan is the very charismatic singer and song writer of brooklyn based Nervous Cabaret, who we had the first time in 2007. he lately got some press when being on tour with amanda palmer from dresden dolls in the us last year. the last album by nervous cabaret drop drop was self released and out on french label naive. elyas meanwhile lives and records in berlin. on bandcamp you can listen to the albums of nervous cabaret. here from the last break in violence

The Electric Set is the solo project by Brandon Davis he started in 2001. he was also a founding member of brooklyn band Indian Jewelry in 2002, whose new album will be out in april on we are free, known here more recently for beach house and yeasayer. one of his other many projects is Terrible Eagle. been with us in january. The Electric Set is on berlin based tigerbeat6, brandon lives and works in hamburg, where he is also around as visual artist. here by the electric set out of your mind

brandon will be joined by justin farrow on percussion, who had played previously with the jacobites and nikki sudden. both acts that night are joined by kevin kennedy, member of british band Nemo. now around with his new project Black Rabbit. his new band and his solo music are both worth checking out.

the baltimore based band ponytail are also on We Are Free. live very good and likeable band. always worth a mention. here from Ice Scream Spiritual (2008) celebrate the body electric I even dared to dj once before or so. maybe tomorrow again.
